Tashkent Discussed Cooperation with Hong Kong IT Companies

A meeting took place at the Capital's Department of Digital Development during the 'ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026' event. The meeting was held with a delegation of representatives from the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and resident companies of this corporation, including 'Showmac', 'eSIX', and 'Cogniser'.

The main objective of the negotiations was to study global experience in implementing digital technologies and artificial intelligence-based solutions. The possibility of adapting modern 'Smart City' concepts to the specific conditions of the region and finding ways for joint project execution were also discussed.

During the meeting, the company 'eSIX' demonstrated its technologies that ensure continuous and secure communication. These systems combine various communication channels—4G/5G, fiber optics, and satellite connections—and are intended for use in transport, video surveillance systems, and utility infrastructure.

Furthermore, the company 'Cogniser' presented solutions utilizing artificial intelligence. These developments are focused on city management, enhancing security levels, education, and industrial monitoring. The company 'Showmac' showcased its intelligent devices and educational products.

Participants discussed specific stages for integrating these proposed solutions into Tashkent's existing infrastructure. It is planned that the new, promising technologies will first undergo testing in a pilot format before being implemented on a wider scale.

A delegation from the Tashkent Region, led by Governor Zoyir Mirzaev, conducted a working trip to China where prospects for cooperation with Sinoma International Engineering Co., Ltd. were discussed in the fields of industrial mechanical engineering and construction material production. This was reported by the press service of the Tashkent Region administration.

The meeting took place in Beijing on the first day of the visit. The main focus was on creating modern production capacities in the region, developing the construction materials industry, as well as technological modernization of enterprises and the implementation of advanced engineering solutions.

Sinoma International Engineering implements comprehensive projects for the cement and mining industries based on EPC and produces high-tech equipment for production lines, including crushers and rotary kilns. Furthermore, the company is involved in developing projects in renewable energy, environmental protection, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence-based management systems.

According to data presented at the meeting, Sinoma International has implemented over a thousand projects in more than 70 countries. In 2025, the company's revenue amounted to 73.27 billion US dollars, net profit reached 4.23 billion US dollars, and total assets reached 91.65 billion US dollars.

Following the negotiations, the Tashkent Region delegation studied the company's activities, its engineering developments, production technologies, high-tech equipment, and experience in implementing industrial projects. The parties agreed to jointly study promising projects, taking into account the industrial potential and investment opportunities of the Tashkent Region. It is planned that such initiatives will move to the stage of practical implementation, covering the production of building materials, industrial mechanical engineering, the introduction of modern technologies, and the creation of new production facilities.

Tashkent Region signed memoranda of cooperation with South Korean firms K-GREEN Co., Ltd. and ENERSOLAR Co., Ltd. These agreements cover joint projects in renewable energy and sports infrastructure.

The Governor of Tashkent Region, Zoyir Mirzaev, held meetings with Ko Kwang-man, Chairman of the Chuncheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as with leaders of leading South Korean companies.

During the meeting with Lee Jae-eun, President and CEO of K-GREEN, the parties discussed the creation of modern and safe sports infrastructure in Tashkent Region through the implementation of Korean technologies. K-GREEN specializes in developing flooring for open sports facilities that are characterized by durability, elasticity, anti-slip resistance, and efficient water drainage.

It was planned to apply these technologies in sports grounds and other regional facilities, as well as to implement new joint initiatives.

Separate negotiations were held with Woo Jun-hee, President and CEO of ENERSOLAR. Discussions focused on introducing solar photovoltaic (PV) power systems and energy storage systems (ESS) in Tashkent Region. The parties also considered ways to improve the reliability of energy supply to social institutions and needy households.

Within the discussions, the possibility of launching pilot projects in the field of renewable energy, attracting investments, and building long-term partnerships was examined.

During the visit, Zoyir Mirzaev familiarized himself with the production processes, technical capabilities, and activities of these companies. Following the meetings, the parties signed memoranda aimed at expanding practical interaction, which provide for new investment projects involving South Korean companies in Tashkent Region.
