A new intelligent subway train from China was presented for the first time at the 15th InnoTrans railway technology exhibition, held in Berlin, Germany.
The event, which took place from September 22 to 25, attracted over 3000 companies from 59 countries and regions, showcasing 180 world premieres. More than 200 Chinese companies participated in the exhibition, with key areas being artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and new energy sources.
This Chinese metro train is the first to combine digital technologies with intelligent systems, applying embodied intelligence in the railway transport sector.
The train is equipped with over 600 sensors, cameras, radars, and an onboard computing platform, allowing it to monitor the vehicle's condition and its working environment in real time. Artificial intelligence is used to detect deviations and provide timely warnings about potential malfunctions.
Furthermore, the use of lightweight materials and the integration of multiple systems contribute to reducing energy consumption.
Frank Schperl, Global Business Manager in Railway Technologies at TÜV Rheinland, told CMG that the train demonstrates a complex set of new technologies and serves as an example of AI application in the railway transport sector. He noted that AI is capable of stimulating research and development in the railway industry and promoting the integration of various systems.
