Although it seems like a simple element in the setup, the webcam plays a crucial role in this format, as it records the player's expressions and helps build a more direct connection with the stream's audience.
In this context, Razer presents the new Kiyo V2 Pro, a webcam announced by the manufacturer that offers 4K recording at 60 FPS and features designed to facilitate content creation without the need for a dedicated professional camera.
Beyond gameplay streams, this model can be used for video recording, producing social media material, and in other common formats among creators in the gaming universe.
The Kiyo V2 Pro incorporates a Sony STARVIS 2 sensor, specifically developed to enhance light capture. According to Razer, this technology allows for capturing sharper images even in low-light environments, which is very advantageous in gaming setups that rely on ambient lighting or LEDs instead of conventional light sources.
The camera records in 4K at 60 FPS, ensuring greater fluidity when recording movements. This is particularly useful in gameplay streams, especially when the streamer moves a lot in front of the camera or uses a larger facecam in the live composition.
The lens also features an 86-degree field of view, allowing it to display not only the player but also a larger portion of their setup. Its articulated mount allows the webcam to be fixed on a monitor or on a tripod.
One-Click Image Enhancement
Another feature aimed at creators is automatic framing. The Kiyo V2 Pro uses digital panning, tilting, and zooming movements to follow the user and keep them centered at all times. In practice, the streamer can change their position or approach some equipment without needing to make manual adjustments to the camera framing during the broadcast.
There is also the One-Click Image Enhancement feature, which performs automatic adjustments to exposure, white balance, and noise reduction according to environmental conditions. For those who prefer to customize the image, there is access to more advanced color, sharpness, and other parameter controls.
The webcam also features Ultra-High Dynamic Range (UHDR) technology, which aims to maintain detail in both the bright and dark areas of the image. This can be very relevant in setups with high lighting contrasts, such as when the player's face is well-lit, but the rest of the environment remains darker.
Razer has established a collaboration with Camo Studio to offer a free subscription to Camo Pro, which expands the control and framing options available for the camera.
With privacy in mind, the Kiyo V2 Pro includes an integrated cover that can physically block the lens when the webcam is not in use.
