The number of foreigners coming to Uzbekistan for study has significantly increased. According to data from the National Statistical Committee, 29,548 foreign citizens arrived in Uzbekistan for educational purposes between January and August 2026.
This figure exceeds the same period last year by 15.3 thousand people, which represents a growth of 2.1 times.
The largest number of international students came from neighboring Turkmenistan, where almost 12 thousand people arrived. India is in second place, with 6,163 people arriving, and 2,271 citizens of Tajikistan also chose to study in Uzbekistan.
