A recent study conducted by scientists from America established a correlation between a woman having inflammatory bowel disease and an increased risk of various complications during pregnancy.
These complications include preeclampsia and preterm birth. However, the study authors noted that the risk of developing hypertensive disorders during pregnancy with these diseases did not increase.
The results of this work were officially published in the scientific journal American Journal of Gastroenterology.
