Uzbekistan and JDB Group to accelerate infrastructure and geology projects

Joint Uzbek-Korean production facilities have been launched, and the construction of several major projects has begun following a general business forum. The opening ceremony took place in Tashkent and was attended by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Han Song-sook.

Project Implementation Details

According to information provided by the press service of the head of Uzbekistan, a Chemical Technology Center is already operating in Tashkent, and the production of robots and their components is underway. Additionally, Kia Sonet Prime cars and body panels for vehicles are being manufactured in the Jizzakh region, while the production of electrical engineering products has been established in the Fergana region, and polymer products have been created in the Namangan region.

Concurrently, the construction of the National Oncology Center and a new higher medical educational institution has started in Tashkent. These new initiatives are being carried out with the support of leading companies and financial institutions from South Korea.

The launch of these projects represents a tangible result of economic interaction between the two countries, which both sides plan to expand. During the forum, a package of agreements concerning trade and investment was also signed.

Previously, the President of Uzbekistan proposed the formation of an Uzbek-Korean industrial and technological alliance. This alliance is intended to combine Korean technological knowledge, Uzbek resources, and investment capital. This idea was presented at the joint business forum in Seoul, which was attended by over 300 business and government representatives.

Uzbekistan and Armenia plan to deepen their interaction, aiming to develop new initiatives in the field of industrial partnership, increase trade and economic and investment ties, and strengthen transport connectivity between Central Asia and the South Caucasus.

Discussions on these areas took place on September 11 in the form of a telephone conversation between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. During the conversation, the sides detailedly reviewed the current aspects of the development of their bilateral relations.

Significant attention was paid to developing new joint production projects. Furthermore, the critical importance of improving logistics systems and creating transport routes connecting the regions of Central Asia and the South Caucasus was emphasized.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also expressed high appreciation for the measures being taken to accelerate the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In the opinion of the President of Uzbekistan, such a document will serve as a reliable basis for ensuring stability and sustainable growth in the region.

In addition, the participants agreed on a plan for future meetings, both bilateral and multilateral, including events within the framework of the UN and CIS.
