A large-scale international study conducted by scientists from nine different countries revealed a worrying pattern: if a patient with acute appendicitis is hospitalized three days or more after the first symptoms appear, the appendix ruptures in almost half of all such cases.
The results of this study were officially published in the scientific journal Lancet Global Health.
