Football club Stellenbosch FC has signed an agreement for a six-month loan of Bafana Bafana national team midfielder Njabulo Blom from Indonesian Super League side Borneo Samarinda. All formalities are expected to be completed before the transfer deadline next Monday.
The 26-year-old player arrived in Winelands to join the Maroons for the remainder of the season. He will bring valuable experience to Stellenbosch both domestically and internationally.
Previously, Blom played twice for Kaizer Chiefs and also spent time in Major League Soccer (MLS) with US team St. Louis City.
Upon his arrival, Blom stated: 'I am happy to be here and start this journey in a new environment. I look forward to the challenge and building relationships with my new teammates. I will do everything possible to help the team and see what we can achieve together.' He also noted: 'Stellenbosch is a professional and well-managed club, and players who have played here before have succeeded, so I felt it was a good environment for my growth and to play competitive football again.'
He added that he knows coach Gavin Hunt demands high standards from his players, and this will help him improve his skills and return to top form.
Blom has been assigned the number 35 for the season and could debut against his former club Kaizer Chiefs during the league match on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
