East-West Oil Pipeline Operations Resumed After Drone Attack in Saudi Arabia

In Chulpon-Ota, CIS states held discussions on adapting air defense systems to unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and considered the possibility of conducting joint patrolling in 2027. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

During the 63rd meeting of the Committee for Coordination of Air Defense Issues under the Council of Defense Ministers of CIS States, held in Chulpon-Ota, issues regarding the development of a unified CIS air defense system, the organization of joint military patrolling in 2027, and the planning of military and operational exercises were discussed.

Evgeny Klemez, Director of the Department of Security Cooperation of the CIS Executive Committee, noted that the experience of modern conflicts, as well as the development of missile and space technologies and new types of weaponry, require the modernization of air defense systems. He emphasized that one of the key areas is adapting the system to detect and intercept unmanned aerial vehicles.

The meeting also addressed cooperation in the production, modernization, and repair of weapons and military equipment, as well as topics such as robotics, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and technological independence.

The delegation of Uzbekistan participated in the event, including Major General Ahmad Burkhanov, Commander of Air Defense and Air Forces, who was awarded by a decree of the CIS Executive Committee.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegations discussed issues of implementing bilateral and multilateral military cooperation in the field of air defense, as well as the development of unified and integrated regional systems.
