After submitting the FSSAI declaration of conformity regarding warning labels on the front of packaging, former FSSAI Director General Pawan Kumar Agarwal stated that he agrees with the regulator's position, provided that the transition period leads to a significant improvement in the nutritional composition of packaged foods.
According to the data, it was found that 94.1% of entries exceeded at least one nutrient threshold. Furthermore, among those classified as high in fat, sugar, and salt, 85.3% exceeded two or more such thresholds.
