Fourth-grade students from School No. 60 in Tashkent took part in an introductory tour of the 'Korzinka Oibek' supermarket. During the visit, they studied the principles of healthy eating and responsible consumption through practical exercises.
The event was organized by Nestlé in collaboration with the 'Korzinka' supermarket chain and the Republican Educational Center as part of the school program 'Health Routes.' This tour continued the educational modules that students are undergoing within this program.
While visiting the supermarket, the children applied their acquired knowledge in a real-life setting, learning how to make informed decisions when choosing products. The students examined various product categories, learned what to look out for when shopping, and practiced finding information on packaging to better understand the composition of a balanced diet.
Experts from 'Korzinka' used an interactive approach to explain how daily eating habits are formed and what role they play in maintaining health. A separate part of the tour was dedicated to ecological practices. The children learned about the separate collection of certain types of waste in the chain's stores, including paper and plastic, which are then collected for subsequent recycling.
The students found out why it is necessary to separate different types of trash and how sorting helps reduce waste and facilitate material reuse. At the end of the tour, participants gained practical knowledge applicable to food selection and forming daily eating habits. At the conclusion of the event, the schoolchildren received commemorative gifts and took a group photo.
The 'Health Routes' program is implemented in Uzbekistan as part of Nestlé's global initiative for healthier children. It is conducted under the general and methodological guidance of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan. The program is designed for children aged 7–8 years and is included in the core natural science curriculum. It should be noted that 'Health Routes' is an updated version of the school program that was supported by Nestlé in schools across Uzbekistan from 2013 to 2018.
