Bentley has introduced the Torcal, marking the brand's debut in the electric vehicle segment, following major names such as Rolls-Royce, Porsche, and Mercedes. This SUV is available in two configurations: the basic and the S.
The initial version boasts 821 hp and 117.8 kgfm, reaching 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and having a maximum speed of 250 km/h. The S version is more powerful, offering 888 hp and 137.7 kgfm, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and reaching 260 km/h.
Bentley mentioned that the Torcal could be faster, but intentionally limited the acceleration because speeds below three seconds can cause discomfort to passengers. Another relevant factor is the vehicle's weight, which is 2,795 kg, making it the smallest of Bentley's four-door models, with a length of 5.01 m and a width of 2.02 m.
To ensure the good handling of this compact vehicle, Bentley equipped the Torcal with a four-wheel steering system and active suspension that controls each wheel individually. In terms of energy, it features a 113.2 kWh battery, an 800-volt architecture, supporting charging up to 400 kW. Bentley promises a range of up to 600 km on the WLTP cycle, and charging from 10% to 80% can be done in just 16 minutes under ideal conditions.
In other automotive industry news, Toyota recreated an iconic scene from the movie 'Cars' to celebrate its return after winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Renault also unveiled the 8 Gordini concept, a modern reinterpretation of the Renault 8 Gordini, originally launched in 1964. While the classic featured a 1.1L engine producing 90 hp, the current concept is electric, positioned at the rear, and generates 273 hp, more than three times the original power. Its dimensions are similar to the current European Clio, with a length of 4.12 meters, and it uses 19-inch wheels in the front and 20-inch wheels in the rear.
Ceer, a Saudi Arabian electric supercar brand founded in 2022 as part of Saudi Arabia's economic diversification strategy, launched its first models, the Exobot (SUV and sedan). Both share the same platform. The most powerful versions utilize three motors and all-wheel drive, delivering 1,126 hp and 153 kgfm. In the sedan, this results in 0 to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds and 250 km/h; in the SUV, the time is 2.4 seconds, limited to 210 km/h.
There is also a less powerful configuration, with 862 hp and a 112 kWh battery and 800V architecture, but Ceer did not disclose the performance data for this version.
Nostalgia from the 90s inspired the Nissan Z Kaze Concept, drawing inspiration from the tuning specials of that era. Although inspired by the 1969 240Z, the concept adopts the characteristic targa top of the Nissan 300ZX (Z32 generation). Revealed at the ZCon event in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, the Kaze Concept features Pacific Teal metallic blue paint and a glossy black body kit. The mechanics were enhanced with the help of GReddy, retaining the three-liter biturbo V6, which originally produced 425 hp and 53 kgfm of torque.
Brabus demonstrated that it maintains its bold nature with the launch of the 900 Rocket Edition Cabrio, a G63 converted into a four-door convertible. The preparation involved over 500 new components, an increase in the displacement of the 4.0L V8 with renewed pistons and connecting rods, and larger turbos, resulting in 913 hp and 127.5 kgfm (electronically limited to 107.1 kgfm). The 900 Rocket Cabrio reaches 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and is limited to 240 km/h, with only 50 units to be manufactured, costing 890,740 euros each.
