Russia and Uzbekistan have completed a significant part of the preparatory work for implementing cross-border electronic document flow and tested the mechanism for exchanging documents between participants in foreign trade.
This was reported by the Russian ambassador to Uzbekistan, Alexey Yerkov, during the business mission 'Digital Bridge of Technologies and Opportunities' in Tashkent. According to the diplomat, within the framework of the pilot project, which involves the Federal Tax Service of Russia and the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan, the parties tested the transfer of electronic consignment documents between companies from both countries.
Yerkov noted that the introduction of cross-border electronic document management can become a direction for bringing the digital systems of Russia and Uzbekistan closer. He emphasized that the work done demonstrates the potential for practical integration of the national digital infrastructure of the two states.
The ambassador stressed that the growing development of trade and economic ties increases the need for businesses for faster and more convenient interaction tools. In this regard, the digitalization of document management is capable of supporting the expansion of economic cooperation between the countries.
Earlier, the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan announced plans to switch to electronic permits for road freight transport with Russia and Belarus by the end of the current year. Currently, Uzbekistan already uses electronic permits for cargo transportation with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
