Uzbekistan and Poland Discuss Cooperation in Geology

Uzbekistan and France discussed expanding interaction between the technological and startup ecosystems of both countries. These negotiations took place in Paris during the International Space Summit.

The meeting included the Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, as well as Bobur Khodjaev, Head of the Department of Financial Technologies, Digitalization, and Artificial Intelligence under the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan. The delegation from Uzbekistan met with Julie Yuguet, Director of the central office of La French Tech.

The parties discussed the possibility of increasing access for French startups to the Uzbek market, while also providing Uzbek tech companies with broader access to the French and European markets. Special attention was paid to strengthening institutional partnership between the startup ecosystems of the two states.

Key programs of La French Tech, aimed at supporting technology companies, assisting them in entering international markets, and establishing connections with investors and other participants in the technology ecosystem, were also discussed. The preparation of a memorandum of understanding between IT Park Uzbekistan and La French Tech was planned.

Furthermore, participants examined the potential of launching La French Tech activities directly in Uzbekistan and creating a local representation in the country. Participants also considered using the Soft Landing and Startup Exchange programs from IT Park Uzbekistan to attract French startups to the Uzbek market. Representatives of La French Tech were invited to participate in the ICT WEEK Uzbekistan event.

The Minister of Mining and Geology of Uzbekistan, B. Islamov, held a meeting on September 9 with a German delegation led by Klaus Mangold, Chairman of Mangold Consulting GmbH. Responsible officials from the ministry also participated in the negotiations.

During the meeting, representatives of the Uzbek metallurgical and technological metallurgical plant presented an overview of the enterprise's activities, its current production capabilities, as well as ongoing work on the development and processing of strategic mineral resources.

Afterward, representatives of Mercedes-Benz AG presented a report titled 'Dialogue on Raw Resources of Uzbekistan and Germany.' Participants discussed prospects for industrial cooperation, Uzbekistan's potential in minerals and raw materials, and opportunities for implementing joint projects.

Particular attention was paid to expanding technological and investment cooperation between the parties. At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to continue developing cooperation in the field of mineral extraction and strategic raw materials. They also agreed to jointly study promising areas and maintain dialogue.
