Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took a step towards turning the concept of 'New Lucknow' under 'New Uttar Pradesh' into reality by making an important announcement to the residents of the state. He laid the foundation stone for the Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar residential schemes, which will be developed on an area of 10,680 acres at a total cost of ₹12,000 crore.
On this occasion, CM Yogi emphasized that previously construction work was done without any planning, due to which residential houses often lacked basic infrastructure such as electricity and water supply. However, now a living system is being created for the residents of Lucknow based on meticulous planning.
This large-scale project will cover an area of more than 10,680 acres and will be developed using advanced civic amenities, wide roads, green zones (green belt), and modern infrastructure. Through the Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar plans, thousands of families will have access to affordable and premium plots.
As part of this initiative, the foundation was also laid for five proposed multi-story buildings worth ₹2,166 crore, which will make urban life more convenient and modern. The main features of this area will be well-developed roads, sewage systems, parks, schools, and commercial zones.
This state government initiative reflects the vision of 'New Uttar Pradesh', where easing the lives of common citizens is a priority alongside urban development. Developed cities, convenient transport, and safe housing are becoming not just promises, but realities being implemented on the ground.
