Blizzard implemented Hotfix 4 for Diablo 4 this Tuesday, the 22nd, bringing several fixes for issues detected during the Season of Hell's Legacy. Among the most significant changes are the resolution of an error related to the Tristram portal and the restoration of an improvement for the Warlock class that had been disabled.
This update package also aims to close vulnerabilities that allowed for excessive acquisition of items and experience, in addition to correcting issues related to rewards and specific class quests, including support for Nintendo Switch 2.
Fixes in the Tristram Portal
One of the central fixes concerns the source used to access the Echo of Tristram. Previously, players could spend their Wirt's Lucky Coins at this source without the portal opening. Since these coins are generated through Splinters, this flaw resulted in resource consumption without allowing access to the activity.
With Hotfix 4, Blizzard confirmed the correction of this issue, allowing players to normally follow the procedure to obtain the Hellfire Torch.
Return of Improvements and Damage Fixes
The update also reactivates the Lesser Demon Bonus, an improvement for the Warlock class called Fiend of Abaddon. This feature had been temporarily suspended after the developer identified that it allowed for an unintended amount of damage to be dealt. After the fix, the improvement became accessible again.
Additionally, another damage-related problem was resolved: the combination of the five-piece bonus from the Old Mountain Talisman with Grief was generating higher than expected values.
Adjustments to Rewards and Exploits
Blizzard also modified some methods of obtaining rewards during the season. It was possible to repeat combat against the Prime Evil Council to accumulate excessive amounts of experience and loot. As a corrective measure, the waiting time to receive rewards was increased.
Another exploit that allowed The Butcher to appear infinitely and repeatedly was also corrected. Furthermore, Hotfix 4 resolves flaws that prevented the corresponding Tributes from Kurast Undercity from delivering crafting materials to the Horadric Cube, and corrects the Seasonal Reputation's Resplendent Cache, which was not granting a Resplendent Spark.
Nintendo Switch 2 Support and Quests
In the case of the Nintendo Switch 2, players faced difficulties using certain skill variations introduced by the Lord of Hatred expansion. This issue was resolved through the new hotfix.
Finally, Blizzard corrected several specific class quests that could not be completed due to programming errors. Hotfix 4 for Diablo 4 has been available since September 22.
