Uzbekistan and China to Expand Cooperation in Air Navigation

An agreement on cooperation was signed in Beijing between the 'Uzeraeronavigatsiya' Center and the Air Traffic Management Bureau of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (ATMB). This memorandum marks the first official agreement between the air navigation services of Uzbekistan and China, laying the foundation for deepening the interaction between the two countries in the field of air traffic management.

The parties expressed their intention to jointly promote technological development, exchange experiences, and train qualified personnel.

The joint work will cover several areas. An exchange of experience in air traffic organization is planned, as well as the development of technologies related to communication, navigation, and surveillance systems. Furthermore, the parties intend to work on the digitalization of this industry.

Significant attention will be paid to staff training. The exchange of knowledge, practical experience, and current methods of functioning of air navigation services is provided for.

The signing of this document also opens prospects for launching joint initiatives and projects in the field of air navigation. Previously, the 'Uzeraeronavigatsiya' Center had already formed a special unit responsible for regular inspection and calibration of radio technical and visual signaling equipment at airports across the republic.

The Ministry of Transport announced the intention of Uzbekistan and the South Korean company Yooshin Engineering Corporation to develop a long-term partnership in the field of modern airport infrastructure. This cooperation may include attracting the company's experience and specialists to the project of the new Tashkent International Airport.

Uzbekistan's Minister of Transport Ilhom Makhamov discussed interaction issues with the Chairman of Yooshin Engineering Corporation, Jeong Kyung-soo, in Seoul on September 13. This meeting took place within the framework of the Central Asia and Republic of Korea Summit.

The parties discussed the possibilities of utilizing the extensive experience of the South Korean corporation gained during the construction of Incheon International Airport. Special attention was paid to involving highly qualified specialists from Yooshin Engineering Corporation in the implementation of the new Tashkent International Airport project.

Furthermore, the participants in the negotiations considered the prospects of creating long-term cooperation for the development of modern airport infrastructure in Uzbekistan.

A meeting was held in Tashkent on September 9th to discuss prospects for interaction between Uzbek and Chinese companies in the field of building materials production. The event took place with the participation of the Association of Uzsanoatqurilishmateriallari and representatives of leading Chinese firms.

Discussion of Industry Potential

The Chairman of the Association, Ilyos Rakhimov, presented participants with information on the production potential of this industry. The main focus of the meeting was on further increasing cooperation between Uzbek building material producers and Chinese business.

In particular, the parties considered the possibility of implementing promising projects related to the production of window and door systems, door hardware, automated solutions, and facade glazing systems.

Localization and Investment

Furthermore, participants discussed issues of localizing production directly in Uzbekistan. Opportunities for joint investment projects and the transfer of modern technologies were also examined.

Finally, the parties talked about the potential for expanding import-export cooperation between enterprises of both countries.
