The international airport of Andijan in Uzbekistan has received the Boeing 777-300 cargo aircraft for the first time. This aircraft is operated by the airline Challenge Air Cargo and arrived from Liège, Belgium. During this delivery to Uzbekistan, 150 heads of breeding livestock with a total weight of 82.5 tons were transported.
The aircraft landed in Andijan on September 21 at 06:05 local time. Airport specialists, together with relevant services, organized the unloading of the animals, conducted veterinary examinations, and ensured their further transportation using specialized transport. All procedures were carried out in accordance with established requirements for veterinary and biological safety.
The Boeing 777-300 became the second new type of large cargo aircraft to be accepted by Andijan Airport in the last two months. Previously, on August 4, the airport also received a Boeing 747-400F from the same airline, Challenge Air Cargo, also for the first time. This flight also arrived from Liège and delivered 160 heads of breeding livestock weighing 83.3 tons to Uzbekistan. Thus, in a short period, the airport processed several types of wide-body cargo aircraft transporting live animals.
A local entrepreneur plans to deliver about 1000 heads of breeding livestock to Uzbekistan by the end of the current year. Subsequent shipments are expected from the airlines Air Atlanta and Challenge Air Cargo.
The capability to receive modern wide-body aircraft resulted from the large-scale reconstruction of the Andijan Airport aerodrome complex, which was completed in March 2025. As part of this reconstruction, the runway, taxiways, apron, and aircraft stands were completely modernized.
