Residents of Tashkent are advised to avoid prolonged time outdoors due to deteriorating air quality

Tonight and overnight, the formation of a temperature inversion is predicted in Tashkent. This will occur due to the cooling of air directly near the Earth's surface, while upper atmospheric layers retain warmth.

According to meteorological data, wind speed in the capital may drop to 0.5–1 meter per second at certain times. Such a decrease leads to a slowdown in the vertical mixing of air masses. Since no precipitation is expected, pollutants such as PM2.5 and PM10 will remain in the atmosphere for longer, creating favorable conditions for their accumulation in the lower layer of the air.

Forecasts indicate that in most areas of the city between 22:00 and 1:00, the Air Quality Index (AQI) may drop to a level considered unhealthy for people prone to health problems. However, in the morning, as the ground surface begins to warm up, the inversion will weaken, vertical mixing will intensify, and the environmental situation will gradually improve.

Given the current situation, residents are strongly advised not to spend extended time outdoors in the evening. The state of the atmospheric air is currently under continuous monitoring by the Special Commission.

Nighttime air temperatures are expected to be within 13–18 degrees, and daytime temperatures from 28 to 33 degrees; in the south of the republic, warmth may reach 35–37 degrees. The average wind speed will be 7–12 m/s.

On Wednesday, September 16, increased winds up to 13–18 meters per second are predicted in some places across the republic, which may be accompanied by dust storms. Short-term rains are possible in the mountain regions during the period from September 14 to 17.
