According to information provided by the Tourism Committee, the number of tourists from France who arrived in Uzbekistan between January and August 2026 increased by 20.6% compared to the same period last year, exceeding the mark of 22 thousand people. Thanks to this, France ranked fifth among European countries with the highest tourist flow to Uzbekistan.
One of the key factors contributing to the strengthening of tourism ties between the countries is the availability of direct air connections between Paris and Tashkent. However, cooperation goes beyond simple tourism; French businesses are actively involved in implementing projects for the development of Uzbekistan's tourism infrastructure.
These projects cover areas such as the hotel sector, cable transport, and mountain resorts. Furthermore, French experts have been involved in developing concepts for new tourism complexes.
Promoting Uzbekistan in the French Market
Active work is also underway to promote Uzbekistan in the French tourism market. This year, the country is participating as a guest of honor at the international exhibition IFTM Top Resa, which is taking place in Paris. At this exhibition, meetings are held between representatives of both tourism industries, including tour operators, airlines, and hotel owners.
In parallel, Uzbekistan is constantly expanding its tourism offerings for foreign guests. In addition to classic routes covering Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, the country is developing destinations related to nature, wellness, gastronomy, and mountain tourism, as well as supporting business trips.
It is worth noting that it was previously reported that there was a significant increase in interest from Russian tourists to Uzbekistan: demand grew by 65% compared to last year. Among Russian visitors, multi-day excursion tours and city tours lasting seven to eight days, including visits to Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, are the most popular.
