At the 'Silk Road' China-ASEAN E-commerce Promotion Event 2026, held on September 17 in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China, information was presented regarding the progress in establishing the China-ASEAN fruit distribution center and expanding its industrial presence.
Guangxi is strengthening its position as a logistics hub at the forefront of cooperation between China and ASEAN. Following the opening of the Pinlu channel, the Beibu Gulf port's sea transport network now serves destinations worldwide, while cold chain railway services from the Nanning International Railway Port connect the region with markets across China.
The Friendship Passport, China's largest land port for fruit import and export, allows fruits from ASEAN countries to gather in Guangxi and subsequently be distributed across the country via river, sea, rail, and road. The fastest deliveries can reach consumers in less than 10 hours after harvest.
This center is largely ready, with the Nanning Agricultural Trade Center transforming into a key node for the trade, processing, and distribution of fruits between China and ASEAN.
Pingshan Port, China's largest land port for fruit import and export, handles nearly 40 types of imported fruits, including durians, dragons, and mangosteens. For a long time, it accounted for over a third of China's total fruit imports and about eighty percent of the country's durian imports.
