The digital payment platform PhonePe announced on Tuesday that it has received preliminary consent from the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to obtain two licenses. These licenses cover retail payment services, card schemes, and funds held in accounts.
Obtaining this approval is an important step towards launching locally licensed operations in the Gulf country.
