Entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and Afghanistan will have the opportunity to conduct settlements through a new platform developed jointly with the Afghan bank Ghazanfar Bank. According to this scheme, funds for the goods will be transferred to the Uzbek seller only after the cargo reaches the Khayraton border trade hub.
Details of the new mechanism were presented at a meeting of entrepreneurs held in Mazar-i-Sharif. A delegation of the private sector from Uzbekistan, numbering 80 people, took part in the event. The discussed issues included increasing the volume of mutual supplies, ensuring reliable money transfers, and implementing joint investment projects.
During the meeting, goods produced by Uzbek manufacturers were also demonstrated. Business representatives expressed their intention to activate direct trade between the two countries.
It was previously noted that a poultry complex located in Karakalpakstan has exported products to Afghanistan worth $1.1 million since the beginning of the current year. It is planned that this supply volume will increase to $1.5 million by the end of the year.
