Uzbek racer Ismoil Akhmedkhojaev won the fourth stage of the Ultimate Cup series in Belgium, taking first place in the UCS2 class at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps track.
As part of the Ultimate GT Sprint Cup races, Akhmedkhojaev competed with the Rossa Racing team alongside Russian driver Roman Rusinov in a Rossa LM GT car. In the qualifying round, the Rossa LM GT secured two pole positions, meaning the right to start the race from the first position.
In the first race, Roman Rusinov became the winner in both the UCS2 class and the overall standings; during the award ceremony for his victory, the Russian flag was raised and the national anthem played. In the second race, Ismoil Akhmedkhojaev took first place in the UCS2 class.
Weather conditions changed significantly on race day. Akhmedkhojaev, who started from pole in the second race, finished third in the overall standings but won first place in the UCS2 class. In the first race, Rusinov also won both the overall standings and the UCS2 class. Thus, the team concluded the Spa-Francorchamps stage with two pole positions and two UCS2 class victories.
Akhmedkhojaev noted that Spa is a very technical track requiring full concentration on every lap, especially with constant weather changes. He expressed joy at achieving such a level at one of the most famous world motorsport tracks and thanked the entire team, as well as Roman, for the past weekend.
This success is another high achievement for Akhmedkhojaev this season. Earlier, in July, he achieved an overall victory in the Ultimate GT Sprint Cup race at the Mugello track in Italy with Rusinov.
This Ultimate GT Sprint Cup series consists of two races, each lasting 35 minutes. GT cars from manufacturers such as Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, and Mercedes participate in the competition. Spa-Francorchamps is considered one of the most famous tracks in world motorsport.
