Central government employees who live or work outside the territory covered by CGHS now have the option to make a single choice to join the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), even if a CGHS Health Center is not available in their city.
According to information published in New Delhi, central government employees located outside the CGHS coverage area have been granted the right to make a one-time decision to be included in the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), regardless of the presence of a local CGHS Health Center.
