The discourses of Premanand Maharaj from Vrindavan often go viral on social media, attracting his followers worldwide. One such spiritual discourse that is currently gaining traction recounts a beautiful story told by him. In this story, Premanand Maharaj describes an incident involving Shri Krishnadas Ji Maharaj, a disciple of Shri Vallabhacharya, devoted to Lord Shiva-Krishna, and a prostitute whose salvation occurred through the gaze of God.
Premanand Maharaj reported that Shri Krishnadas Ji Maharaj sometimes left the ashram to acquire items for worship and adornments for God. Once, he had to travel to Agra. Along the way, he noticed a crowd of people and decided to see what was happening. He saw a prostitute dancing, and people were enjoying the spectacle. He was struck by the movements and dance of this woman.
However, while observing the dance, Shri Krishnadas Ji Maharaj fell into deep contemplation. He pondered how much effort she put into attracting the attention of worldly people. He hypothesized that if she could charm God, her birth would find meaning. He gave her ten rupees and asked her to dance to his melody. The prostitute proved to be very skilled; as soon as she began to sing, he stopped her, and she started moving.
Furthermore, Premanand Maharaj recounted that Shri Krishnadas Ji Maharaj gave her a thousand coins and declared that if she could dance before their lord, she would receive as much wealth as she desired. The woman, eager for money, agreed to go with the Maharaj. When they arrived in Bridge Mandal with the prostitute, they faced condemnation everywhere. The saints in society heavily criticized him for bringing a prostitute aged 60–70 with him.
Nevertheless, Shri Krishnadas Ji Maharaj arranged housing for the woman near his hut. Then, he arranged for her ritual bathing at various places: Mansi Ganga, Radha Kund, Shyam Kund, Lallita Kund, and Apsara Kund. After this, he accompanied the woman on a pilgrimage to Thakurji. He then told her that today he would bring her before his lord, and if she succeeded, her destiny would be secured. She would receive any wealth and property she wished for.
Afterward, Shri Krishnadas Ji Maharaj brought the woman, with all necessary preparations, before Srinath. At the Maharaj's request, the woman began to dance. As soon as the dance ended and she raised her eyes, she saw Sam Lallit Tribhangi, capable of pacifying millions of desires. Thanks to Krishnadas Ji's prayers, God revealed Himself to her in the form of light. Seeing this, the woman lost consciousness and fell to the ground. Her life was saved by God's grace, and she attained liberation.
