Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 17 line to the Brazilian market this Monday, September 21st. This launch follows the Redmi Note 15 family, which was presented in January of this year. The new series comprises three distinct models, with price ranges varying between R$ 3,999 and R$ 6,999, and they are immediately available in physical stores and on the official portal of the Chinese manufacturer.
These mid-range smartphones are equipped with 5G connectivity, a redesign of the rear camera, greater battery autonomy, and overall improvements in durability. A notable highlight is the Pro Max variant, which positions itself as the most sophisticated model in the line, boasting an impressive 9,210 mAh battery.
Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G features a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.59 aperture, integrated into its redesigned camera module. It is the only one among the four announced models capable of recording 4K video at 30 frames per second. Its operation is based on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 (4 nm) chip, accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.
In terms of robustness, this device has SGS impact certification, in addition to obtaining IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K seals for dust and water protection. Furthermore, the smartphone is one of the pioneers in the sector to receive the TÜV SÜD 5-star Titan Quality certification, which attests to its reliability regarding drops, water protection, and battery performance.
The 9,210 mAh Si-C battery offers a projected usage of up to three days, supporting up to 100W HyperCharge and 27W reverse charging. The 6.83-inch AMOLED screen operates at 120 Hz, is compatible with HDR+ and Dolby Vision, and features Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G
The Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G shares several specifications with the Pro Max model, but presents certain restrictions. Its rear wide-angle lens also has 50 MP, but uses a smaller aperture (f/1.8) and limits video recording to 1080p at 30 fps. The processor used is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, which offers inferior performance, and it can be found with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage or with 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory.
Other distinctions include the absence of support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision formats on its 6.83-inch AMOLED screen, in addition to having a slightly reduced battery capacity of 8,340 mAh. The maintained durability certifications are the same observed in the most advanced model.
Redmi Note 17 5G
Concluding the line, the Redmi Note 17 5G differs with a 7,700 mAh battery and 45W turbo charging. This model does not have an ultrawide lens like the superior models, and its main camera consists only of the 50 MP wide-angle lens with an f/1.8 aperture.
For processing, the phone is equipped with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chip, along with 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The 6.99-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, although its water and dust resistance is limited to IP65 certification.
As mentioned previously, sales of the Redmi Note 17 line began today through Xiaomi's physical and digital channels. The launch prices were disclosed, and it is expected that in the coming weeks, the devices will arrive at partner marketplaces, and starting in October, at traditional retail stores.
