Work is underway in Tashkent and Bukhara on the construction of new airports with a total cost of about $3 billion. Simultaneously, major projects in road and rail transport are being implemented.
It is planned that by 2030, the volume of transport services in Uzbekistan will double, and $9.1 billion in investments will be attracted to the sector, while service exports will reach $5.7 billion.
Various large-scale infrastructure projects were reviewed during the presentation. Among them are the construction of the 'China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan' railway, the creation of a high-speed railway between Tashkent and Samarkand, as well as issues of expanding and electrifying regional railway networks.
In addition, the modernization of the freight wagon fleet and the involvement of the private sector in this process were discussed.
