Uzbekistan plans to introduce the digital Fisherman ID system, also known as the 'Fisherman's Card'. This platform will consolidate various services related to recreational fishing into a single space.
The system will allow users to purchase and pay for fishing permits, as well as book spots and receive corresponding QR passes. The National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change has already begun reviewing commercial proposals from potential developers of this project.
Requirements for the project include the development of an open portal and an electronic register of fishing zones, as well as the creation of a personal user account. Furthermore, a system for issuing and paying for tickets, along with a booking and QR pass issuance service, must be implemented.
Fisherman ID will include a marketplace and a mobile application, and it will ensure integration with payment systems such as Payme and Click. The creation of this system is mandated by a presidential decree concerning the development of the fishing industry.
Within Fisherman ID, there is a provision for a unified electronic register of recreational fishermen and the possibility of purchasing a discounted annual subscription. Funds collected from these subscriptions will be directed towards water body cleanup and stocking natural water objects.
A tragic incident previously occurred: during an anti-poaching operation on the Syr Darya, an Ecopolice inspector died. According to preliminary information, the inspector drowned while attempting to stop individuals engaged in illegal fishing using electric fishing gear.
