During dinner at a five-star hotel in Mumbai, renowned cardiologist Dr. Ashok Seth was shocked to find a small cockroach on his table. The incident occurred at the Romero restaurant in the JW Marriott hotel, located in Sahara. Dr. Seth published a video of the situation on social media, showing the cockroach moving around the plate and table.
Dr. Ashok Seth visited the restaurant on Saturday evening. It was then that he noticed the cockroach on his table. By sharing the video, he jokingly named the small uninvited guest 'Rochi.' The doctor reported that attempts to remove it from the table were unsuccessful, as the insect refused to leave its spot.
In his post, Dr. Seth speculated that 'Rochi' might have also wanted to share dinner with him. He joked that perhaps the cockroach wanted pizza instead of pasta. Nevertheless, this incident completely ruined his appetite, and he had to leave the restaurant.
Dr. Seth not only shared the video of the incident on social media but also tagged the Maharashtra Food and Drug Department, FSSAI, and JW Marriott. He expressed hope that the case would be investigated and that something like this would not happen again in the future.
After the publication on social media, the Marriott Bonvoy Assist support service responded to the situation. Through their contact channel, they deemed the incident serious and asked Dr. Seth to provide his contact details for an investigation.
As of now, neither the Romero restaurant nor the JW Marriott itself has made an official statement on the matter. It remains to be seen what measures the hotel management and food control authorities will take in response to Dr. Seth's complaint.
