Hans Kluge, candidate for Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) and WHO Regional Director for Europe, emphasized that strengthening interaction between China and Europe is crucial for the future of global health governance.
He noted that this cooperation is particularly important in areas such as artificial intelligence, primary healthcare, and healthy aging. In an exclusive interview for CGTN's Health Talk, given on the sidelines of the Boao Forum for Global Health in Asia, Kluge stated the need to shift towards prevention in the context of promoting healthy aging, insisting that medical interventions should begin at an early age.
Furthermore, Kluge highlighted the importance of joint work between the health and education sectors, as well as maintaining a healthy lifestyle, particularly through regular physical activity.
The Boao Forum for Global Health in Asia 2026 took place in Haihou from September 15 to 16, gathering guests from 32 countries and regions.
