GIFT Nifty predicted a somewhat negative start to trading for Nifty50 as investors await a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Futures traded at 23,344 points, which is 35 points lower.
Asia-Pacific markets showed growth at the start of Monday's trading thanks to reports of constructive dialogue between US Secretary of State Scott Bessent and Vice Premier He Lifeng. According to Bessent, the parties agreed to organize discussions on artificial intelligence (AI) to achieve a common understanding of goals and threats.
As a result, Japan's Nikkei 225 and South Korea's Kospi rose by 1.38% and 1.32%, respectively. Previously, last Friday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 0.18%, while the S&P 500 showed growth of 0.17%, and the Nasdaq Composite closed the session with a gain of 0.39%.
Brent crude oil prices fell by more than 1% as traders anticipate a recovery in supplies from Saudi Arabia despite ongoing attacks. September futures traded at $101.74, down 1.41%. Gold and silver futures also decreased by 0.24% and 0.09%, respectively.
