An image or statue of Lord Vishnu (especially in the form of Vamana) is placed on a pedestal covered with yellow cloth in the home temple. The deity is offered Raksha, Akshata, yellow flowers, Panchamrit, Tulsi leaves, and seasonal fruits. During the worship, the mantra 'Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya' should be continuously repeated. It is also recommended to listen to or read the story of Parivartini Ekadashi, concluding the ritual with Aarti using a ghee lamp and offering food to the deity.
Religious Significance of Parivartini Ekadashi
According to mythological tales, on this day, Lord Vishnu changes his posture while sleeping in the Ksheera Sagara, which affects the functioning of the universe. A devotee who observes the fast with a sincere heart and reveres Lord Vishnu on this day purifies all sins of past lives. Furthermore, observing this fast earns merits comparable to the sacrifice of Vajpayaya and ultimately leads the person to liberation.
