After winning two silver medals on the first day of the Asian Games 2026, India continues its pursuit of more awards on the second day. On the first day, the team consisting of Sonam Maskar, Ilavelin Valarivan, and Vidarsa Vinod brought silver to India in the women's 10-meter air rifle team event. Additionally, Ilavelin Valarivan won silver in the individual event of the same sport.
The Indian women's cricket team also secured a spot in the final by defeating Bangladesh with a score of 114 runs. The women's cricket final will take place on September 22 between India and Sri Lanka. Indian athletes demonstrated commendable results in hockey and table tennis, while Suchika Tarial showed impressive play in mixed martial arts. However, Indian athletes did not meet expectations in swimming, wushu, and taekwondo.
Shooting
Competitions are scheduled in shooting: at 6:15 AM, the qualification and men's 10-meter air rifle team final will take place featuring Himanshu Dhillon, Part Mane, and Rudranaksha Patil. At 6:30 AM, men's and women's individual and team competitions in sport shooting will be held. At 9:00 AM, the men's 10-meter air rifle individual final will take place, dependent on qualification results, and Himanshu Dhillon, Part Mane, and Rudranaksha Patil will also participate.
Table Tennis
Matches are scheduled in table tennis between India and Pakistan in the women's Group F team tournament at 6:15 AM, and in the men's Group F team tournament at 3:30 PM.
Sport Tennis
Matches are scheduled in the mixed doubles category of Group B: at 5:30 AM, Adya Tiwari/Jai Mina versus Viva Chao/Chanroseka Khuna (Cambodia); at 6:30 AM, Adya Tiwari/Jai Mina versus Bud Nyamdorj/Enkhuslen Ganbatar (Mongolia); and at 7:30 AM, Adya Tiwari/Jai Mina versus Kim Yeon-hwa/Jae-kyu Park (South Korea). The semi-finals and final of the mixed doubles category will take place at 12:00 PM and will depend on the qualification results.
Swimming
Races are scheduled in swimming: at 6:32 AM, men's 50-meter backstroke; at 6:46 AM, men's 50-meter freestyle; at 6:50 AM, men's 50-meter freestyle; and at 7:06 AM, men's 100-meter breaststroke.
Wushu
A women's Changquan final is scheduled in wushu at 5:30 AM featuring Nieman Wangsu. At 3:15 PM, the rounds of 16 women in the 60 kg category will take place, where Roshibina Devi will face Most Hatun (Bangladesh). At 3:50 PM, the rounds of 16 men in the 56 kg category will take place, where Aryan will face Shahzada Safi (Afghanistan).
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)
The semi-final of the women's traditional 60 kg category will take place at 8:00 AM, where Suchika Tarial will face Theo Hui Hun (Singapore). Suchika, who has already guaranteed herself a medal by winning the quarter-final, now aims to reach the final.
Hockey
A match is scheduled in hockey between India and Indonesia in the women's Pool B at 9:30 AM. Also, a match between India and Bangladesh will take place in the women's Group A at 4:15 PM.
Other Sports
Matches are scheduled in wrestling: at 9:45 AM, India versus Japan in the men's Group A; at 11:30 AM, India versus Bangladesh in the first round of the men's badminton team tournament; at 5:30 AM, India versus Japan in the men's Group B sepak takraw team tournament; and at 2:45 PM, the men's 32-man round in boxing in the 70 kg category, where Sumit will face Bundjong Sinsy (Thailand).
