The company Uzbekexpertiza reported that Uzbekistan and Russia are preparing to test an electronic system for exchanging certificates of origin for goods. Discussions on relevant issues took place on September 17 at a working meeting.
Discussion of cooperation between the parties
The working meeting was held by Umirhon Azamkhozhayev, CEO of Uzbekexpertiza, and N. Kharyushin, representative of the Federal Customs Service of Russia in Uzbekistan. The parties discussed the implementation of an agreement on mutual recognition and electronic acceptance of certificates of origin for goods between Uzbekistan and Russia.
According to Uzbekexpertiza, 75,522 certificates of origin were issued in 2026 for goods exported to Russia. Uzbekexpertiza JSC has already prepared the necessary technical specifications for the electronic exchange of information.
Preparation for system launch
At the meeting, special attention was paid to preparing for the system trials, including the implementation of necessary organizational and technical measures. After the full launch of the electronic system, exporters will no longer need to provide certificates of origin in paper form. It is expected that the electronic exchange will accelerate customs clearance and increase the transparency of relevant procedures.
