To mark the 25th anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public service, the 'Seva Yatra' has commenced as part of the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan,' traveling from Vadnagar to Varanasi. Vadnagar is the birthplace of the Prime Minister, located in the Mehsana district of Gujarat state, while Varanasi is his parliamentary constituency. The goal of this campaign is to deliver services and aid directly to the villages.
This journey began on September 17 and will continue until October 7, covering a period of 21 days. During this time, 20 teams will cover a distance of approximately 35,500 kilometers. While traveling, the teams will stop in cities, towns, and villages to perform various types of service work.
During the trip, drives will be conducted to clean public places such as ponds, temples, schools, parks, and hospitals. Saplings will also be planted under the 'One Tree for Mother' initiative. The program includes cattle care, meetings with beneficiaries, dialogues with village councils, and conversations with youth. The main focus of the trip is not merely moving from one place to another, but interacting with people, understanding their needs, and providing assistance on the spot.
As part of the event, cleaning operations will be carried out in PM SHRI schools. Students will interact with representatives of the trip and will be given books and stationery. Furthermore, assistance will be provided to those in need in hospitals, orphanages, and old age homes. Kits will be handed over to widow women, and Ashya workers will be awarded.
The trip includes planned dialogues with youth, women, and discussions at the village council level, which will allow for direct contact with local residents. Residents will be motivated to make decisions about organ donation. Additionally, homage will be paid to heroes and freedom fighters to immortalize their contribution.
In addition to social work, this trip places great emphasis on direct human contact. Through conversations with beneficiaries, youth, and women in different locations, efforts will be made to understand their perspectives. The 'Vadnagar to Varanasi' journey is part of the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan,' running from September 17 to October 7. This campaign is being held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Prime Minister's public life. October 7, 2001, holds particular significance, as it was the date Narendra Modi took office as Chief Minister of Gujarat. In 25 years, specifically on October 7, 2026, he will complete 25 years in public life. The Bharatiya Janata Party uses this milestone to engage with the public through service and outreach programs.
