Kazakhstan Delegation Examined Tashkent Region's Experience in Poverty Reduction and Business Development

A delegation from the Tashkent region visited Suntown Technology Group Co., Ltd. (SNTO) in China on September 17 as part of a working trip, according to the press service of the Tashkent region administration. During the visit, the parties discussed prospects for investment and production cooperation, as well as the implementation of new projects.

SNTO was founded in 2003 in the city of Changsha and specializes in deep aluminum processing and the production of advanced materials. Representatives from the Tashkent region familiarized themselves with the company's production capacities and modern technological processes.

Particular attention was paid to the production of high-precision aluminum foils, industrial profiles, light structures, and aluminum formwork systems for construction. The delegation also studied the application of digital technologies and resource-saving solutions in production processes.

The meetings discussed the possibility of transferring the production of modern aluminum formwork systems for construction and environmentally friendly packaging to the Tashkent region. Furthermore, the parties spoke about implementing advanced 'green' technologies and expanding SNTO's capabilities to enter the Central Asian market.

The company's research potential was also considered separately. The significance of the National Technology Center and SNTO's postdoctoral research station was noted as promising directions for implementing new initiatives. Overall, the cooperation was recognized as promising in the fields of advanced technology implementation, production localization, and the company's entry into new markets.

A unified management system for student towns will be launched in the Almazar district of Tashkent, covering aspects of studies, daily life, employment, and ensuring youth safety.

This issue was discussed at a meeting dedicated to the socio-economic development of the capital, which was held under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Seventy-five thousand students are studying in the Almazar district simultaneously.

As part of this system, the local administration of the 'Yeshlik' student town will establish full-time positions for responsible specialists. These specialists will handle issues related to education, upbringing, employment, social support, and ensuring the well-being of female students.

There are 41 dormitories in this district, belonging to 7 universities, where approximately 18 thousand young people reside. To improve the quality of their living conditions, enhance the appearance of adjacent territories, create green zones, open cafes, and organize regular cultural events, a separate Directorate will be formed.

Spread of the monitoring system

The meeting also noted the effective work of the Situational Center in the student town, which provides online attendance control and records entry and exit from university buildings and dormitories.

It is planned that by the end of the current year, this online monitoring system will be expanded to other districts of Tashkent, and next year it will be introduced in all higher education institutions across the country.

Previously, Shavkat Mirziyoyev had already studied the work of the situational center established in the local administration of the 'Yoshlik' student town in the capital's Almazar district.

A set of measures aimed at developing infrastructure for walking, supporting local businesses, and improving the socio-economic situation of the city is being implemented in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. These plans were announced at a meeting dedicated to the development of the capital.

In the Almazar district, 52 state-owned assets are being put up for auction, with a total value of 100 billion soms. The transfer of these assets to private individuals with ready projects is intended to stimulate economic activity and increase revenue for the city budget.

As part of improving the urban environment, special attention is paid to creating areas for active recreation. An eco-park and 12.5 kilometers of pedestrian paths along a 2.5-kilometer embankment have already been established in the 'Kichikrik' mahalla.

It is planned to transform the city's canal embankments into safe zones for walking. Specifically, along the Bozsu Canal, from the 'Shahidlar Xotirasi' memorial complex to the Chilanzar district, a continuous pedestrian path of 20 kilometers will be laid. The design for this path must be developed within one month.

To support small businesses in the capital, the possibility of adapting the ground floors of residential apartment buildings for commercial purposes and services is provided. Additionally, the limit for unsecured lending for novice entrepreneurs in Tashkent will be increased from 100 to 200 million soms.

These initiatives in the Almazar district will support 300 entrepreneurs this year and create a thousand new jobs. This successful experience is planned to be scaled up to other districts by the end of the year, ensuring employment for 20 thousand residents of the city.

In the 'Miskin' and 'Ibrohim Ota' mahallas, the industrial zone covering an area of 305 hectares, which houses 504 business facilities, will undergo modernization. Thanks to the introduction of industrial mortgage, lending, and leasing programs, the number of jobs in this zone will increase from 35 thousand to 100 thousand, and export volume will reach 600 million dollars.

The issue of a shortage of qualified personnel is also being addressed in the district. A technical college for information technology and innovation with 400 places will be established at the Almazar Center for Professional Skills, and a modern professional center will be located in the building of the former Tashkent Architectural and Construction College.

To facilitate citizens' departure for work abroad, German language courses for 500 people have been organized, as well as training for medical workers for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Twenty major recruitment agencies from Germany, Japan, Korea, and the United Kingdom will be involved in the labor attraction process; a project for seasonal employment of 1,500 people annually will be implemented with companies from France.

By the end of the year, an innovation cluster will begin to form in the 'Yeshlar Shaharcha' student town on an area of 42 hectares, combining an IT park, high-tech enterprises, and educational institutions.

It should be noted that this year, investment attraction of $9 billion is planned for 12 districts of the capital, but the president emphasized the need to intensify this work during the video selection meeting.
