Professional Facebook accounts may face paid restrictions on link posting after the launch of Meta One

Some professional pages on Facebook are now required to pay to post more external links following the recent introduction of the Meta One subscription. Previously, these accounts that did not pay for the subscription could publish an unlimited number of external links.

Now, many users have a monthly limit of two links. To bypass this restriction and post more links, page owners are advised to subscribe to Meta One. This subscription also provides the option to choose a preview image and add a call-to-action button.

This change has affected both unverified business pages and professional accounts, as users can no longer post links in post descriptions or comments.

Meta One helps drive traffic to users' websites by allowing clickable links to be added to posts and Reels to increase personal traffic.

Launch of the Meta One service

Meta Platforms launched its 'Meta One' service subscription on September 15th to provide enhanced artificial intelligence capabilities and new features across all its social media applications, including Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. The service, which has already reached 15 million subscriptions and trials during its phased rollout, aims to offer over 50 features for content creation, audience engagement, and business management on Meta platforms.

When signing up for a Meta One plan, users can add links to a specific number of posts and Reels monthly, depending on the chosen tariff.

Meta One Plans

There are various subscription tiers: the Meta One Advanced plan allows for up to 8 links per month in Reels and up to 8 links per month in posts. The Meta One Expert plan offers up to 20 links per month in both Reels and posts. The highest tier, Meta One Max, provides an unlimited number of links in Reels and posts monthly. It is important to note that separate monthly limits apply to posts and Reels. The counter resets on the Meta One subscription renewal date, and unused links do not roll over to the next month.

Furthermore, all three plans allow creators to add a link collection page to their bio, containing up to 20 links that can redirect the audience to websites, social channels, and other important addresses.

Subscribing to any of these plans also grants access to additional features and capabilities on Instagram and WhatsApp.

What is included in the monthly limit?

The monthly limit includes any links added using the 'add link' feature. However, there are exceptions to this rule: links to Meta technologies such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads; product links (including affiliate links) that are part of Meta's existing business catalog; and links used in advertisements.

Meta One plans are available worldwide. Pricing starts from Dh5.99 per month for individual products, from Dh22.99 per month for individual packages, and from Dh46.99 per month for creator and business packages.

Individual Plans:

Instagram Plus costs Dh7.99, WhatsApp Plus is Dh5.99, and Facebook Plus is Dh7.99.

Individual Packages:

Meta launches Meta One subscription in UAE for WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook starting from 5.99 dirhams per month

The US technology giant Meta, which owns popular social applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger, introduced its Meta One service subscription on Tuesday, with prices starting from 5.99 dirhams per month.

This service provides individual users, content creators, and businesses with expanded access to professional features and artificial intelligence (AI) tools across the company's entire suite of applications. Meta has combined over 50 features already available in Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Meta AI, with future plans including AI glasses and editing tools.

According to the company, there are currently over 15 million registered subscriptions and trial periods. Meta emphasized that the core functionality of all applications and Meta AI will remain free; subscriptions unlock additional specialized capabilities and extended AI usage beyond the free tier.

Meta One develops the concept of individual product plans launched earlier this year, such as Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus, and WhatsApp Plus, which the company claims demonstrate a high degree of user retention.

Recently, Instagram Plus gained the ability to use custom fonts in Direct and Stories, as well as notifications about Story views from specific users and previewing messages in Direct. Facebook Plus adds customization options for Messenger, advanced analytics for Reels, and super reactions on feed and Reels posts.

WhatsApp Plus will soon begin testing storage for backing up chats and media files, as well as a Focus Schedule feature to disable or hide chats at set times.

The Basic and Premium tiers of Meta One combine these individual application features with broader access to computationally intensive AI tools, including image and video generation through Meta's Muse models, as well as built-in tools like Restyle in Instagram.

Early testing showed that more than half of subscribers to the packages used both AI and self-expression features, with tools like Restyle and voice effects in Instagram cited as key reasons for subscribing.

For businesses and content creators, Meta One integrates professional tools and AI directly into the applications their audience already uses. New features include an enhanced profile displaying websites, locations, and customer reviews, a prominent subscription button in Reels, and automatic subscription invitations for users interacting with content. Businesses also gain extended access to Meta Business Agent for 24/7 customer query support.

Meta announced plans to add further features, including Edits Plus, which will provide additional cloud storage for syncing projects across devices and allow for more active use of the upcoming Edits assistant for analyzing Instagram insights and generating content ideas.

Meta One plans are now available globally. Individual plan costs start from 5.99 dirhams per month, individual packages from 22.99 dirhams per month, and creator and business packages from 46.99 dirhams per month. Specific prices include: Instagram Plus for 7.99 dirhams; WhatsApp Plus for 5.99 dirhams; Facebook Plus for 7.99 dirhams. Individual packages start from Core at 22.99 dirhams and Premium at 76.99 dirhams. Business and creator packages start from Essential at 46.99 dirhams, Advanced at 119 dirhams, and Expert at 359 dirhams.
