As temperatures decrease in the UAE and the long-awaited winter approaches, many open tourist destinations across the country are preparing to welcome guests again. Among these is Sharjah Safari, which has announced the start of its new season on Monday, September 21, 2026.
The park operates daily from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM and offers tickets in Gold, Silver, and Bronze packages. Sharjah Safari covers an area of 8 square kilometers and is located in Al Bardi Reserve in Al Dhaid city, managed by the Environment Protection Agency – Abu Dhabi (EPAA) in Sharjah.
Aisha Rashid Dimas, Chairman of the Environment Protection Agency – Abu Dhabi (EPAA) in Sharjah, commented on the park's reopening, stating that this season they aim to bring visitors closer to various aspects of wildlife interaction experiences. In addition to observing animals in environments mimicking their natural habitats, guests will have the opportunity to learn about the work and experience of specialists who care for them. The park's goal is for every visitor to leave Sharjah Safari with pleasant memories, deeper knowledge, and a greater understanding of the overall responsibility towards nature and wildlife.
From April to June of this year, the park registered 186 offspring thanks to breeding and animal care programs. These new individuals include diverse species such as South African giraffes, elephants, lions, oryx, blue wildebeest, impalas, nyala, and zebras. These born animals give guests the chance to see a new generation of animals and learn more about them during the new season.
Sharjah Safari, which is the largest safari outside of Africa, recently also welcomed six critically endangered sea turtle hatchlings. Last year, the park celebrated the arrival of the fifth African savanna elephant calf and, for the first time in history, twin ring-tailed lemurs.
In addition to new births this year, exclusive behind-the-scenes tours will be available to guests. These will take place during specific periods and allow visitors to get a more detailed look at the daily animal care, providing deep insight into their needs, as well as the qualifications and effort involved in their maintenance. Sharjah Safari will also continue educational and entertainment programs and events this year, alongside opportunities to observe animals in open spaces and environments replicating their natural conditions.
