To make simple sugar cookies without eggs, you will need 125 grams or half a cup of room temperature butter, a quarter cup or 60 milliliters of powdered sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 1 1/2 cups of cake flour or all-purpose flour, as well as chocolate or royal icing for decoration.
First, beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Then, add the vanilla extract and mix. The flour should be added gradually, in small portions, continuing to mix until a soft dough forms. If necessary, you can add more or less flour to obtain a soft and pliable dough.
The prepared dough should be wrapped in plastic wrap and placed in the refrigerator for one hour. After this, the dough is rolled out and cut into desired shapes. The cookies are cooled again for 15 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius. Bake the cookies for 20–25 minutes, until the edges acquire a light brown color. Before decorating, the cookies must be completely cooled on a wire rack.
