Tata is actively updating its model range. This year, the company introduced fresh versions of Punch Facelift, Tiago Facelift, and Tata Sierra. Now it is known that Tata is preparing to release the next model, which is reportedly a sedan.
The design of this upcoming sedan is being actively discussed online. According to reports, the new model is intended to replace the existing Tata Tigor. Although the new car will be based on the Tigor platform, its design will receive a significant update.
Rumor has it that the new sedan may be named Tata Aeris and will replace the Tata Tigor. The front end of the car might resemble the new Tiago, including a new bumper with a thin lower air intake and fog lights, as well as a smooth black grille. LED elements may be used in the lighting.
The side profile is expected to remain largely unchanged, but the roof will have a notchback shape. The car might get a new wheel design, which will improve the overall look. The rear will be equipped with a system of body-integrated LED taillights.
Changes will also affect the trunk design. The interior is expected to feature numerous innovations: wireless charging, ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch multimedia system, a semi-digital driver display, cruise control, automatic climate control, wireless support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a keyless entry push-button start function. Six airbags are standard.
The Tata Aeris may be available in both petrol and CNG variants. It will be equipped with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 86 hp and 113 Nm of torque. A 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine capable of using CNG is also provided, generating 76 hp and 97 Nm of torque.
The car will be offered with manual and automatic transmissions for both petrol and CNG variants. The estimated price for this model is expected to range from 6 to 10 lakh Indian rupees, including all taxes.
The main competitors for the Tata Aeris will be the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze.
