Huawei Cloud Unveils AgentArts and Agentic Cloud Stack for Enterprise AI at Connect 2026

At the HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 event in Shanghai on September 18th, Huawei Cloud CEO Peter Zhou introduced the Agentic Cloud stack. This stack integrates silicon-level cluster services with an enterprise agent platform already utilized by over 100 clients.

The presented concept differs from the Ascend SuperPoD hardware roadmaps. The main focus is on AgentArts, the open-source project openJiuwen, the Agentic Model as a Service offering, and the Industry AI Foundry assets, which enable the transformation of agents into production workflows.

Huawei Cloud describes the Agentic infrastructure as being based on efficient tokens, enhanced memory, unified scheduling for general and AI tasks, and secure autonomy. The company claims that this service level has provided services to over 3,500 clients.

The newest AI Cluster Service (AICS) includes five-level fast recovery and full chain observability. It ensures over 40 days of stable cloud training, recovers from failure within 10 minutes, and demonstrates approximately 20% higher token throughput compared to the previous generation. Commercial availability of AICS is scheduled for September 30th in China and November 30th outside of China.

Additionally, Context Memory Storage was introduced, functioning as petabyte-scale agent memory with terabyte-class high-speed reading.

AgentArts serves as the commercial platform for enterprise agents, while openJiuwen is its open-source counterpart. Together, they provide access to over 5,000 General Purpose Model Context Protocol assets and more than 1,000 MCP industry assets. Huawei reports that openJiuwen has garnered over 50,000 stars on GitHub and 3.29 million downloads, with partner commercial versions available from Chinasoft International, iSoftStone, and Beiming Software. The launch of AgentArts in non-China markets is slated for December 30th.

Among the companies adopting this technology are local government bodies in Lungang District, Shenzhen, China Southern Power Grid, Kingsoft Office, and KingMed Diagnostics.

The Industry AI Foundry now boasts over 1,000 industry assets and more than 1,000 deployed projects in fields such as healthcare, embodied AI, AI for science, manufacturing, and finance. New smart government and AI hardware zones have also been established.

The primary theme presented at Connect is commercial operations with agents in the cloud—the combination of AgentArts and openJiuwen—rather than details on Ascend 950 Lingqu, OceanStor M900, UnifiedBus, or reviews of the Ascend 960 SuperPoD, which were covered previously.

Furthermore, global annual token consumption is expected to increase by approximately 100,000 times as systems continuously perceive information, reason, invoke tools, and interact in real time. Huawei also stated a long-term goal of achieving around 900 billion application agents.

The document includes a list of ten technological directions that serve as a practical checklist for the industry. These directions include: achieving Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), which takes physical form through language, embodied, and scientific intelligence; scaling clusters by 100 times and reducing agent task costs by 1000 times using SuperPoD-type systems for improved token inference efficiency; developing new storage and memory systems with causal accuracy and reliable traceability; experience-oriented intelligent connectivity with AI integration into communications; applying Tau's Scaling Law for chip design, favoring joint optimization of latency and energy over pure geometric scaling; creating an evolutionary Agent Operating System (Agent OS) based on (Coordination × Execution × Memory × Connectivity); ubiquitous intelligent device functionality; self-learning intelligent driving with a focus on safety; improving energy efficiency and cooling of AI-based data centers; and establishing security and privacy control mechanisms for autonomous agents.

This package of documents, released ahead of the Huawei Connect 2026 conference, presents a thesis on global infrastructure and strategy covering token production, delivery, consumption, and limitations, which differs from the announcements of the open-source Ascend CANN or 3D AIDC architecture. Independent operators will need to adapt the SuperPoD economy, Agent OS interfaces, and agent security proposals to their own plans before considering these ten directions as a procurement list.
