A cougar was located circulating through the streets of San Francisco, California, United States. The process of capturing and subsequently releasing the animal was documented in videos.
According to North American reports, the incident occurred shortly before 11 am local time on a Friday. After the animal was registered, an alert was issued, mobilizing wildlife rescue teams to the location.
A notice was sent to the city informing about the location of the wild animal, aiming to keep people away from the area, but the event proceeded without injuries. Before the tranquilizer dart became active, the feline demonstrated agility, advancing against the agents who were trying to capture it, which was expected.
Drew Andre, a CBS News journalist, reported: 'The agents alerted us. They told us to be prepared because, after the feline was tranquilized, there was a possibility that it would run towards us - and that's exactly what happened.'
Subsequently, the animal calmed down, allowing those responsible to remove it from public view. It was examined by a veterinarian, who attested that the cougar, which is between two and three years old, was in good health condition. Then, the animal was released into a natural area.
