The producer of the film 'Hanuman ANS,' based on the life of Nima Koroli Baba, shared her experience of the movie's success, which grossed over 300 crore globally despite initial difficulties. The film, which premiered on August 7, went through a difficult period where it barely earned 1 million for the first 20 days, and on some days, revenue was only 400 thousand.
The peak of difficulties occurred on August 14, when the film was shown in only 29 screenings nationwide—this was the lowest screening count for 'Hanuman ANS.' This situation was linked to competition from the films 'Bantwara' and 'Avarapan 2.' However, subsequent days promised to be even more intense due to the release of 'Toxic' by Kannada superstar Yash, whose film already had an established audience.
Despite the strong buzz around 'Toxic,' negative reviews about it helped change the fate of 'Hanuman ANS,' turning it into a blockbuster. Ragini Sona, the film's producer, openly discussed the fierce competition they faced along with director Vishal Chaturvedi, promoting the film through road trips and staying in theaters.
Ragini noted that the film was initially shown in 350 theaters, but after the release of two major films—'Avarapan 2' and 'Toxic'—the number of screenings sharply dropped to 25–30. Despite this decline, the business of 'Hanuman ANS' did not decrease, which gave them hope. At a critical moment, Vishal and she decided to continue the showing, informing the distributors, who eventually agreed. After an additional expansion of screenings the following week, the film continued to run, and what happened next became a story.
Ragini Sona also discussed Yash's film 'Toxic.' She mentioned that the film includes a dialogue about how people who read the 'Hanuman Chalisa' are still afraid. This dialogue reflected the team's internal fear. Those involved in the project and who believed in it fully trusted Baba. Nevertheless, they never wished ill upon 'Toxic,' as they believed that the success of any film benefits the entire film industry. Although the media created antagonism between 'Toxic' and 'Hanuman ANS,' the team never expected to withstand the competition against 'Toxic,' believing their films would develop in parallel.
