Uzbekistan to face Kazakhstan at the debut FIFA U-15 World Cup 2026

The national football team of Uzbekistan in the U-15 youth category has learned its opponents in the group stage of the first FIFA U-15 World Cup Festival 2026, which will be held in Azerbaijan.

Uzbekistan has been placed in Group W along with teams from Kazakhstan, The Bahamas, Ghana, Guam, and Myanmar.

The competitions will take place in Baku from October 22 to 31 of this year. Youth national teams from 191 countries will participate in the tournament, divided into 32 groups.

Group Stage Format

The group stage is scheduled for October 24 to 26. The competition format is designed for high intensity: each team must play five matches in three days, with some days featuring two matches per team.

To advance to the playoffs, the youth team of Uzbekistan must secure a position higher than its opponents from Kazakhstan, The Bahamas, Ghana, Guam, and Myanmar within the group.

Organizers describe the upcoming FIFA U-15 World Cup Festival 2026 as a historic and experimental FIFA tournament, marking the first World Cup in this format for footballers of this age category.

The head coach of the Uzbekistan U23 national football team, Ravshan Khaydarov, officially unveiled the list of players who will participate in the upcoming Summer Asian Games in Nagoya, Aichi-Nagoya-2026.

The team's first match in the group stage is scheduled for September 15. In the group, Uzbek footballers will compete against the national teams of the Philippines, Kuwait, and Vietnam.

Team Roster

The goalkeepers for the national team include Samandar Muratbaev from Nasaf club, Maxim Murkaev from Pakhtakor, and Umar Rustamov from Olympic Mobius. The defensive line consists of Giyesjon Rizakulov ('Qyzylkum'), Dilshod Murtazoyev, Kuvonchbek Khushvatov, and Dierbek Abdunazarov (all Nasaf players), Dilshod Abdullaev ('Pakhtakor'), as well as Ruziboy Faizullaev and Saidkhon Khamidov from Olympic Mobius.

The attacking line features Shodier Shodiboyev and Nurlan Ibrahimov from Lokomotiv, Firdavs Abdurakhmonov from Dinamo, and Amirbek Saidov from Sogdiana.
