Rose petals have traditionally been used for centuries to improve appearance and give the skin a natural tint. Industrial, expensive facial gels often contain artificial dyes, preservatives, and chemicals that can harm the skin.
If you are striving for hydrated, soft, and rosy skin without using chemical additives, you can prepare a natural and fresh pink gel yourself using fresh local rose petals and aloe vera gel. This gel effectively soothes the skin and also helps eliminate dark spots and dryness.
To make the gel, you will need the following ingredients: 2-3 fresh red or pink rose petals (separated), 3-4 tablespoons of rose water, 3 tablespoons of aloe vera gel (store-bought or fresh), 1 vitamin E capsule, and 1/2 teaspoon of almond or coconut oil (if the skin is dry).
First, thoroughly wash the rose petals to remove all dust and dirt. Then, place the washed petals along with 3-4 tablespoons of rose water in a blender and blend until a fine consistency is achieved. After this, strain the resulting mixture through cheesecloth or a sieve to extract a thick rose essence.
Take 3 tablespoons of aloe vera gel in a clean glass bowl. Add the prepared rose extract, 1/2 teaspoon of almond oil, and the oil from one vitamin E capsule. Gently whisk this mixture with a spoon for 2-3 minutes. Gradually, the aloe vera gel will absorb the rose extract, and the mixture will turn into a velvety, light pink gel resembling commercial alternatives.
The finished pink gel should be transferred to a clean and dry glass jar and stored in the refrigerator. It can be used for 10-15 days. It is recommended to apply this gel to the face and neck with light massaging motions after washing every morning or before bed.
