When does Scorpion Kings Live start?
Stadium gates open at 12:00. The preliminary program is scheduled from 13:00 to 18:30. The main show will begin at 19:00 and run until 22:30. It is important to note that entry will be closed after 21:00, so latecomers may not be able to attend the event.
Additionally, the event will feature zones for food, drinks, fashion, and brand activations. Partners include SABC 1, Sprite, RocoMamas, Castle Lite, Veev, Gautrain, SAMPRA, GalxBoy, McCafé, Red Bull, the Gauteng Provincial Government, and the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture. The event broadcast on SABC 1 will start at 20:00.
How to get to FNB Stadium
Given the expected presence of over 70,000 people, significant traffic and congestion around the stadium are anticipated. Organizers recommend using public transport or official parking and shuttle services where available.
Gautrain, the official transport partner for the event, will provide a free bus service between Park Station and FNB Stadium. Buses will operate from 10:00 to 20:30 on Saturday, with return trips departing after the show ends; the last bus will leave FNB Stadium at 01:30. The last Gautrain train from Park Station is scheduled for 02:00.
Rea Vaya will also provide special services connecting areas such as Soweto, Joburg CBD, Alexandria, and Sandton to the stadium. Before the concert, services from Tokozah Park and Indingilizie in Dobsonville will run to Rea Vaya Soccer City station every 15 minutes from 11:00 to 20:00. From Ellis Park East and Ellis Park North, buses will run to FNB Stadium from 12:00 to 20:00.
After the concert, event buses will start departing from the stadium at 23:30, with the last trips to Tokozah Park and Indingilizie scheduled for 01:30. Final buses from Joburg CBD to Alexandria and Sandton will depart at 02:00. Rea Vaya smart cards with account payment are available at stations for 30 Rand, and guests are advised to ensure they have sufficient funds for the return journey.
Parking and Park & Ride
Visitors arriving by private car can use the official Park & Ride service, which allows them to leave their car in designated areas before taking special shuttles to the stadium. Park & Ride tickets can be purchased through Webtickets, and organizers advised purchasing them in advance rather than looking for parking near the stadium on the day of the event. A limited number of parking spaces is also available within the FNB Stadium grounds, but parking tickets must also be purchased via Webtickets.
Tickets will not be sold at FNB Stadium
Attendees have been informed that tickets will not be sold at the stadium itself. Tickets must be purchased exclusively through the official ticketing platforms Webtickets and the Scorpion Kings Live website. Organizers also warned fans about the danger of buying tickets from unofficial sellers and on resale platforms. Tickets purchased through unauthorized channels, including Viagogo, may be invalid, and organizers cannot guarantee entry.
Security Enhanced for Scorpion Kings Live
Security will be a top priority at the stadium, as organizers announced the doubling of security personnel for this event. The same security company that managed operations for the Chris Brown and Travis Scott concerts has been hired for Scorpion Kings Live.
According to organizers, the event's security plan has been approved by the Joint Operations Command (JOC) and will include over 400 marshals, specialized security staff, SAPS and JMPD officers, FNB Stadium security teams, and extensive emergency medical services. These measures aim to manage the large crowd and ensure medical and emergency support throughout the event.
What can you bring to the stadium?
Visitors are advised to minimize personal belongings and carry valid digital tickets. Formal vendors inside the stadium will accept cashless payments, while informal vendors will accept both cash and card payments. Therefore, fans should bring a bank card or another suitable cashless payment method.
Only umbrellas with flat tops and no sharp points are allowed. Professional cameras are strictly prohibited. FNB Stadium is equipped for wheelchair access, and all entrances and gates provide such access. Guests requiring assistance are advised to arrive early and approach venue staff.
