Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that Karakalpakstan intends to provide 6,000 young people with high-paying jobs in the fields of information technology and logistics over the next three years. This was announced by him at a meeting dedicated to the socio-economic development of the region, which took place in Nukus.
The President noted that there are 1.1 million young people residing in Karakalpakstan, of whom 505,000 are aged between 14 and 30. Mirziyoyev called this a significant advantage and emphasized the importance of wisely utilizing youth potential.
He set a goal to provide 1,000 young specialists with high-paying jobs in IT and logistics within the first year, and the remaining 5,000 over the subsequent two years.
According to the President, the region has 98,000 young people with foreign language certificates, 127,000 with information technology certificates, and 5,500 with certificates in exact sciences. Additionally, another 10,000 people possess advanced skills in both foreign languages and information technology.
Mirziyoyev supported the initiative of a compatriot from Korea to train youth from remote areas in information technology. He instructed officials to attract at least 10 diaspora specialists to Karakalpakstan by the end of the current year.
The President also highlighted the need to expand the experience of Vocational School No. 1 in Nukus, where the international educational program Pearson BTEC, whose certificates are recognized in 70 countries, was implemented. He reported that entrepreneur Salautdin Ilosov established a production of 37 types of small-scale equipment based on this, while simultaneously training youth in its manufacturing. Thanks to this, according to the President, 4,000 unemployed individuals began earning an income.
Starting next year, a similar experience will be introduced in four other vocational schools in the region. Shavkat Mirziyoyev added that from October 1, the loan amount for purchasing equipment will be increased from 20 million to 50 million soms.
