Mirziyoyev announced the creation of a unified medical cluster in Nukus

Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that Karakalpakstan is expanding its range of high-tech medical services, including liver and kidney transplants, which are performed at the central hospital in Nukus. These statements were made by him at a meeting dedicated to the socio-economic development of the region in Nukus.

According to Mirziyoyev, the Aral Region Children's Hospital provides 150 types of high-tech medical care. Since the beginning of this year, 1500 operations have been performed in complex fields such as cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, and plastic surgery.

The President also noted that a medical insurance mechanism has been introduced in the region, and medical institutions have received equipment worth 10 million US dollars.

Creation of a University Medical Cluster

Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the Nukus Medical Science Academy, the first in Uzbekistan established on the basis of public-private partnership, will become a methodological center for assessing knowledge and improving the qualifications of medical workers. He stated that the medical academy, children's clinic, oncology center, and recently opened multidisciplinary hospital will be united into a single system—the University Medical Cluster.

Furthermore, Mirziyoyev reported that starting January 1st, doctors working in the districts of Bozatau and Takhtakupyr will begin receiving a salary supplement of up to 200%. This measure is similar to the payments already provided to doctors working in Muynak.
