Six projects related to artificial intelligence and data centers are planned for implementation in Karakalpakstan, with a total cost of 8 billion dollars. A special zone will be established in the region to realize these plans.
During a meeting dedicated to the socio-economic development of Karakalpakstan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the region possesses several significant resources, including vast land areas, mineral reserves, large pastures, and the potential use of solar and wind energy. Based on these advantages, a new investment and industrial map will be formed, covering the entire cycle—from raw material extraction to final product manufacturing.
Specifically, the area known as 'Kungrad – Karauzyak – Tahiatash' is set to transform into a 'green industrial corridor' and become the center of Karakalpakstan's 'intellectual economy triangle.' Within the special zone for AI and data center projects, six initiatives totaling 8 billion dollars are planned for implementation.
The task has been set to develop a five-year program and guarantee stable power supply of 1 gigawatt to investors by October 1st. Furthermore, over three years, approximately 1,500 high-paying jobs are planned to be created in the cities of Nukus, Kungrad, Karauzyak, and Tahiatash. Additionally, the goal is set to increase the annual export of cloud technologies and artificial intelligence solutions to 600 million dollars.
It was previously reported that Shavkat Mirziyoyev initiated the launch of new production facilities and began large-scale transformations in Karakalpakstan. 11 projects worth 592 million dollars have already been launched in the region, and construction has begun on another 47 projects totaling 7 billion dollars.
